COACH BRYAN

Years played: 30 | Years coached: 23 | College: Newbury

Why I coach:
I was a late-blooming athlete, I left high school with low confidence. I was lucky to have Bob Vilsoet/Dave Hildebrandt build me back up, which turned into a career I couldn't have dreamed of as a child. I coach because I want to help athletes learn to work through adversity/chase their peak potential, all while being true to who they are/prioritizing their lives in a way that brings them happiness.

Why Progression:
I built Progression with the goal of providing a positive experience for EVERY athlete. We've helped over 30 get to play at the collegiate level, and we've also taken pride in providing a great environment for kids who have excelled in things off the court as well. I am grateful to be surround by staff/support that shares that vision!

FUN FACT: Between coaching and playing, volleyball has taken Bryan to 39 states and twice over international lines!

COACH KRISTIN

Years played: 20 | Years coached: 11 | College: High Point University

Why I coach:
I want to be the role model that I wish I had growing up as a female playing a sport. Volleyball and my body have given me so many experiences I will never forget. Through the sport, I want to encourage women to take up space, be loud, and passionate about what they love to do. Volleyball just happens to be that avenue to showcase what I'm capable of and I hope that inspires others to see what their capabilities are.

Why Progression:
As someone who went through the system and competed at the highest level domestically, progression has given me the space to grow and become the athlete and person I knew I could be. I see how this program has helped me mentally and countless others overcome adversity and mental challenges that come with sports and life

FUN FACT: Kristin is a professional illustrator and has her work in stores like Barnes and Noble, Target, and World Market!

COACH CHRIS

Years played: 23 | Years coached: 15

Why I coach: Volleyball provided a lot for me when I was younger. I appreciate the opportunity to give back to the next generation of athletes.

Why Progression: Progression provides a teaching environment that focuses on the development of the athletes in a balanced manner. It's nice to have a balance of competitive practices while also having off-seasons and breaks for the kids.

FUN FACT: At 6'7" with a 7' wingspan, Coach Chris is the tallest on staff!

COACH DAN

Years played: 25 | Years coached: 19

Why I coach: My full-time job is a teacher. I've always had a love for helping young people as they grow into their personalities. I've played volleyball most of my life, and using the sport to mentor kids is a fun way to provide that help.

Why Progression: I coached indoor teams for 15 years, but as I became a husband and father I needed a better balance. Progression's shortened seasons/unique practice format gives me the best of both worlds when it comes to being able to coach as well as spend time with my wife/kid.

FUN FACT: Dan also likes to golf and has hit a hole in one!

COACH KYLE

Years played: 13 | Years coached: 5 | College: Team captain at NYU

Why I coach: I love the sport and want to be surrounded by it as much as possible. It’s really rewarding to watch people improve their game bit by bit and watching someone’s expression when they finally make that jump serve or finally bounce a ball or have clean hands on a set makes it sooo worth it.

Why Progression: I really like the message and mentality of the program. I’m a firm believer that if you’re out playing and not enjoying yourself you’re doing something wrong. This program does a good job of reminding its players what the real purpose is of showing up and working on your craft. Never getting too hung up on the results, but rather the progress and progression of your game. On the juniors side of things the camaraderie between players is better than I’ve seen at any other club - the players have a general love for one another and encourage their peers growth as much as their own and that’s rare to see.

FUN FACT: Before joining Progression, Coach Kyle trained and coached beach volleyball in Portugal!
