YOU DON'T PLAY FOR US

WE COACH FOR YOU

We believe youth sports should provide equal opportunity to every child. That doesn’t mean every athlete will go on to play in college. That doesn’t mean every athlete will be equal in skill. But every athlete gets the same opportunity for development and growth.

Here are a few commitments we provide to our families:

  1. Every athlete deserves a coach that sees them for what they can become, what they’re not.
  2. Every athlete deserves the ability to choose where volleyball fits into their lives, whether they want to play year-round or only for a small portion of the calendar.
  3. Every athlete deserves equal repetition/attention at practices.

Too many parents and players are being made to sacrifice everything else to be included in competitive youth sports. We’ve created a system that allows kids to still participate in multiple sports, music, theater, part-time jobs, and ultimately have a balance in their lives that makes them happy.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How do you sign up?

Head over to our Juniors section of our website and registration should be available for the next season(s). We accept athletes of all levels until capacity is hit. 11-14U is capped at 12 athletes per court and 15-18U is capped at 10 athletes per court to ensure everyone gets enough repetition/attention from coaches.

  • What if we've never played beach or aren't sure if we are ready to commit?

Not a problem! Contact us to set up a private lesson/hop into practices where space allows. Parents are welcome to watch from the sidelines as we believe our program should try out for you vs. the other way around.

  • Does my athlete need a partner to participate?

While players are welcome to join with a friend, players are not required to bring a partner. Our practices are designed to develop individuals, and much like a collegiate program we put athletes in a position to mix-match who they play with – that way they become well-rounded in their ability to compliment different styles of partners.

  • Does my athlete need to be a certain level?

We have 2 requirements of our athletes: Be respectful of one’s peers, give one’s best effort. That’s it!

Beach volleyball allows for practices that both prioritize the truly competitive athlete as well as the part-time volleyball player. We do not believe an athlete’s quality of education should be based on their current level. We take pride in working with any athlete with the drive/work ethic to get better.

  • What should my athlete bring to practice?

INDOORS: We suggest a water bottle/towel (they will not need socks/shoes in the sand/aside from that can dress like normal volleyball practice).

OUTDOORS: We also suggest sunscreen and sunglasses. We also encourage athletes to have a snack in their bag, as well as make sure to eat enough before training. Beach 2’s/4’s burns a lot more calories and athletes need to be fueling their body properly. We always prioritize athletes’ safety/will bring them to the side when they’re getting lightheaded/nauseous, almost every time it happens the athlete informs us they have not eaten. We appreciate your cooperation in making sure our athletes come to practice set up for success with fuel in their body!

  • How do tournaments and competition dates work?

We will provide our families with a list of different tournament organizations/schedules to choose from – families have full control of their weekend schedules/how much they play! We have athletes that travel the country and compete year-round, athletes that only train/play games at our practices, and everything in-between.

Need a partner/not sure where to start? We’re happy to sit with families and help them both network within the program with other athletes as well as find tournaments that are most compatible with their situation.

NO MORE THAN 8 KIDS PER COURT

AMPLE INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION

We will cap each practice at 16 athletes to ensure everyone gets the proper attention they deserve from our coaches. We finish every day with games/scrimmage scenarios, so the kids get to reap the benefits of their hard work each day they show up.

EVERY kid gets coached by the same mentors. All our coaches have been trained in-house, and most of them have Division I/Open level experience! Most importantly, we care about the athletes as people, not just as players. Whether an athlete is college-bound to play or just starting their beach volleyball experience, we promise that no kid gets held back, no kid gets left behind!

ABOUT PROGRESSION BEACH VOLLEYBALL

WITH COACH BRYAN

Bryan created Progression Volleyball with the goal of providing every single kid the same opportunity to become the best version of themselves and having fun while doing it.

Too many kids have come to our program after adults have taught them that when they make mistakes,
they’re the problem. Our goal is to help athletes work through the actual problems: Why did we miss our serve? Why did we shank the pass? Why did that hit go out of bounds? All these questions have answers regarding spacing, timing, and mechanics. We help athletes learn to feel their mistakes/understand how to fix those mistakes on their own.
